17 Montpelier Place, Hove BN1 3BF

I've met Jo within a week of opening Youjuice @Montpelier Place door. Her energy and passion translate so clearly at her work. Jo offered Youjuice incredible deal and literally has put mark on a (google) map for us! We have been working with each other ever since then.

Thank you Jo and Striking Places!

Here's one of the first reviews for Youjuice written by Jo Hailey | Director | Striking Places

Youjuice is a delightful, raw, cold-pressed juice bar in Hove, Brighton, that opened in 2014. The first thing you see is the baskets of fresh locally sourced, organic fruit and vegetables, ready to be pressed and prepared to perfection in their state of the art juicers and soup making machines. Freshly made juices line the chiller cabinet, bursting with antioxidants, nutrients and enzymes, in a vibrant array of natural colours. The very lovely Anita and her team really care about individual tastes and health issues, and are on hand to suggest the best juice or detox plan for you. Youjuice doesn’t only serve juices. Their range includes smoothies, nut milks, soups, fresh coconuts, salads and superfood nut butters. You can also buy the raw ingredients used in the products, such as chia seeds, spirulina and cocao nibs. Very yummy raw chocolate treats are also available. Of course it makes sense that the Youjuice team also care about the environment and recycle their glass bottles!

Striking Places has an office in Brighton, not far from Youjuice in Montpelier Place. It wasn’t long before one of the regular team walks along the seafront found them outside the newly opened Youjuice. Jo likes a healthy diet and even has her own twin gear Green Star masticating juicer at home. Enticed in by the bright, fresh, clean look of the juice bar, Jo struck up a ‘juicy’ conversation with Anita. Youjuice had only opened that week and was already attracting a lot of returning customers. Striking Places is always keen to help new businesses so offered Anita and her tiny shop a great deal for extending Street View inside. Anita was very excited about the prospect of her new shop appearing on Street View and getting some professionally shot and processed images to boot!

A date was set and luckily, even though it was a chilly November morning, it was a bright, dry day. The photography didn’t take longer than an hour as only five panoramas were required. Small but perfectly formed, and full of style, Youjuice makes an excellent photographic subject and the presence of some cloud cover gave a lovely filtered light, ideal for photography. The shiny white tiled walls contrast beautifully with the greens, oranges, and beetroot colours of the juices. Fresh wheatgrass stands in wooden boxes along the counter at the front of the shop, where Youjuice bottles hang as decorative lighting. Whilst we usually have to blur faces in line with Google rules, on this occasion Anita and her staff who appear in the panoramic tour held menus in front of their faces, which was a nice alternative. Anita was very generous with her wares, and the team enjoyed turmeric shots and a fantastic banana and raw chocolate smoothie while they worked. Thank you very much Anita! The tour and the accompanying static photographs were published to Google Maps within a couple of days, where you can still see them now. Whenever we’re in Brighton we always pop in for a juice and a chat.
